This project was to create a set of drink coasters using digital fabrication methods and design the packaging and branding. This project was my first introduction to manipulating flat stock with vector graphics to create digital accuracy in real-world objects. I chose to design a set of coasters for a high-end alcohol brand named Oliver Wells. The coaster consists of a pine wood base that was charred and oiled with gold and copper inlays and a cork bottom. I used CNC and laser machines to create the coaster base and cork olives and ordered the inlays through SendCutSend; then, I hand-assembled the coasters.
